How My Friend Jason Designed His “Perfect” Life Out Of A Pile Of Ashes...

How My Friend Jason Created His “Perfect” Life Out Of A Pile Of Ashes…

Today is December 17th, 2024 and we’ve just moved into our new house after three years at the ranch…

We’re constantly walking around stacks of boxes that will take weeks to unpack, and my beautiful studio is once again a blank canvas that I’ll get to bring to life with the help of my buddy Matthew Alvarez

But new home aside, today I wanted to share an inspiring story with you about my friend Jason…

Many years ago I tracked down the artist who designed the cover for the quintessential entrepreneur’s book, “Atlas Shrugged…”

His name is Nick Gaetano, and I commissioned this custom piece from him - Atlas, carrying the weight of his world on his shoulders as every entrepreneur does…

I’ll be looking for a place to feature this piece in the new studio, but here’s what I want you to take away from our decision to leave our ranch behind, and take a different path…

You get to choose.

All of it, and in all ways.

Or as Ayn Rand puts it so eloquently…

Do not let the hero in your soul perish, in lonely frustration for the life you deserved, but have never been able to reach... Check your road and the nature of your battle. The world you desire can be won. It exists, it is real, it is possible, it is yours… - Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged

You get to chisel and carve out every aspect of your life from the raw stone of potential and possibility, into what you want it to be…

Failing to consciously choose and design every aspect of your life, is by default… Also a choice.

You are choosing to let the rest of the world determine what you’re worth, how much you get paid, what kind of house you live in, and how much freedom you have…

And if you allow that to happen, you’re never going to enjoy the outcome…

So Let Me Share A Story With You That Will Demonstrate How Powerful This Process Can Be…

My friend Jason has run a successful ad agency for over a decade…

Two years ago, his kids went off to college and he found himself going through a divorce…

Instead of becoming a victim of these circumstances and focusing on the challenges, he spent the next two years consciously defining and pursuing what he considered his, “perfect life…”

What does that look like?

  • He created a business that he loves, that can generate his target income, and that takes less than 8 hours per day to maintain…

  • He only eats foods that he enjoys, and that allow him to maintain 15% body fat...

  • He created a workout routine that allows him to build lean muscle without going to the gym more than 3 times per week…

  • He pursues his favorite sports for cardio, instead of spending time on a treadmill…

  • He has meaningful relationships with his children based on open communication, trust, and unconditional love...

  • He has put an investment plan in place that guarantees he’ll reach his retirement income goal…

  • And he consciously chooses how he wants to provide value to the world…

  • He does this by holding live events at inspiring locations with small groups where powerful, intimate conversations and adventures can take place…

  • His passion is snow-skiing, so that has turned into mastermind groups for entrepreneurs while chasing powder in exciting locations around the world…

And the results?

“Since moving to Bend in August, I've had more PEACE, JOY & CONTENTMENT than any other point in my adult life. I'm the fittest ever, and I spend 100% of my time having fun doing the things I enjoy with the people I love.

No bullshit. I couldn't be happier! I'm super excited for all the opportunities the coming year has in store!!

This is the result of committing 2+ years of dedication to a vision I had for what I wanted my best life to look like…” - Jason

Want This Level Of Clarity In Your Life?

Here are 10 specific questions that will provide you with a plan you can use to create the future of your dreams…  As we come to the end of 2024 and the beginning of a new year, this is the perfect time to sit with these questions and carefully craft your answers…

1: What brings you joy and energy?

2: What does NOT bring you joy and energy. (Knowing what you don’t want is just as important as knowing what you do want).

3: What would you choose to do if you were already financially free?

4: How much money do you want to make, and can your business model support that? If not, what do you need to change?

5: Who do you want your customers to be? New or experienced? Happy or jaded? Wealthy or broke? Energizing or draining? Friends or strangers?

6: How often do you want to work?

7: What are you doing in life when you’re not working that will provide you with joy?

8: What’s your financial freedom plan?

9: What’s your biggest area of weakness where addressing it would radically improve your life?

10: What do you need to let go of that’s holding you back?

11: What actions do you need to take in order to bring this vision to life?

Ultimately, this “life design” process comes down to taking responsibility for your circumstances and putting forth the effort required to change them…

It will be hard, but I can guarantee you that the regret you’ll have when you’re in your 70’s if you don’t go for it, will be even harder…

Sincerely,

Mike Dillard ✞
