The End Of A Chapter: Saying Goodbye To The Cosmic Ranch...

Three years ago, Michelle and I were inspired to move to my favorite spot in the Texas Hill Country… A small town about an hour outside of Austin.
The goal was to build a self-sustainable oasis, and provide my nervous system with some peace and quiet to heal from years of toxic mold and heavy metal poisoning…
Over next year, we brought that dream to life… Turning dirt and grass into something out of a fairytale…

We named her, “The Cosmic Ranch” and the property became the perfect mix of the masculine and feminine…
Michelle turned the inside and outside into a beautiful home, while I gave it the ability to sustain our family through any event the world might throw our way with water, power, and food…
But what I appreciate the most about the Cosmic Ranch, is the fact that it’s a piece of art we created together after losing every penny I’d ever made, and going through some of the hardest years of my life…
It showed us what’s possible, and how quickly things can change…
If there’s one message I want you to take away from this email, that’s it…
That no matter what you’re going through right now, things can change for the better faster than you can imagine…
Don’t give up. Focus on the life you want to create, and take action on a daily basis.
Here’s a quick tour of the “Cosmic Ranch…” 📷

So Why In The World Would We Leave Such A Beautiful Home?
Especially with all of the uncertainty taking place around the world right now?
That’s a great question, and there’s a few reasons…
1: We actually listed the home for sale over a year ago. And while showings were plentiful, offers were not thanks to record-high interest rates… So this is a decision we made quite a while back before global tensions increased to the boiling point they’re at today…
2: While it’s been peaceful, it’s also been isolating… Heading to Austin means we’re committing to a minimum 2 hour round-trip drive before we even spend time at our destination.
This made casually meeting up with friends impractical… This ranch would be perfect as a second home, but not as our primary.
3: But the main reason we’re moving is that fact that our kids will be driving in the next 12-18 months. My son still goes to school in Austin, so with morning traffic that’s a 2.5 hour round-trip drive every morning, and then another 2 hour drive to pick him up in the afternoon.
We’ve put 67,000+ miles on our Tesla S in just 2 years. 😮(Best car ever by the way).
Being new drivers, we don’t want the kids driving down 2-lane country roads through wine country every day.
Are We Moving To Another Ranch?
No… We’re actually moving to a beautiful home in a gated subdivision.
While the ranch was great, it was A LOT of work...
Taking care of a property like this will be incredibly fun when we’re retired, but we’re not ready for that just yet… Now that my health is starting to improve, my focus belongs on my work, and not on the land…
But What About Going Off-Grid And Being Prepared?
That’s another incredibly valid question, especially given the period is history we’re entering right now and my focus on this topic…
Thankfully, our new home is only 3 miles down the road from a dear friend who’s already welcomed us to join them on the property if the lights go out.
They’re even more prepared than we are… Even going as far as raising their own livestock on 40 acres that they harvest for food.
In fact, it’s actually a better situation for everyone than our existing setup…
Why?
Because if there’s ever a time when these preparations are needed, safety isn’t just in supplies, it’s in numbers.
In a sustained grid-down situation which is the most dangerous type of disaster we could experience here in the US, you want to form a group of 20-30 trusted friends and family members who have fire-arm skills, and who who are well supplied. (Large groups fall apart if food isn’t available).
So this is a situation where 1 + 1 = 11 for both families.
This kind of situation carries an asymmetric level of risk… While unlikely to happen, if it does and you’re not prepared, the outcome is the loss of everything.
So applying some time and resources to off-set that risk is the only prudent option to take, especially given the period in history we’re going through right now.
Either way, one chapter is coming to a close, and a new one is about to begin…
Last week we celebrated our final gathering of friends and family members here for Thanksgiving…
And this week I’m filming the final videos that will ever be filmed here in this studio…
To those of you who spent some time with us here and made some memories, THANK YOU…
It was one of the most important chapters of our lives, and each of you know why… 🙏
Sincerely,
